Kalpitiya is one of the perfect locations to relax after your long flight.
Wilpattu National Park, located only an hour away, makes for a great wildlife excursion where you can spot the likes of leopards, bears, deer, jackals and various species for bird watching.
Early morning, enjoy a boat ride to see for a whale and dolphin-watching excursion. The best time to visit is from December to April, where hundreds of dolphins can be spotted off the coast of Kalpitiya. It is also the ideal place for adventurous activities such as surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and more. The Bar Reef is a rare pristine coral reef offers much to see for marine enthusiasts. This includes several species of exotic reef fish, stingrays and Marine turtles.
Take in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka from new heights as you soar above Dambulla, Sigiriya and the beautiful wilderness in style. Take in the spectacular sunrise from within a hot air balloon for a truly unforgettable experience!

What used to be King Kasyapa’s capital, this UNESCO protected world heritage site can be toured within 1 ½ hours.
The Knuckles Mountain Range is one of the most iconic mountain ranges of Sri Lanka, known for its beautiful peaks, waterways and forests amongst the clouds! There is much to be enjoyed and trekking through the mountain range is very popular excursion for adventure and wildlife enthusiasts.
A visit to the Riverstone Plains (known to locals as Pitawala Pathana) offers you a chance to really connect with nature with a trek to the cliff at the end of the Riverstone Plains known as Mini World’s End.
The beauty of the Wasgamuwa National Park is its sheer land coverage, which spans close to 37000 hectares. Bordering two rivers, one being the mighty Mahaveli River, it is the only national park within the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Home to a large variety of animals, an excursion to this wildlife park I will allows you to witness the large herd of elephants that calls this park their home It is also one of the best bird sanctuaries on the island. Be sure to have your camera and a zoom lens to capture them in flight!
This is an area with tropical rainforests, winding rivers and an undulating terrain. Kitulgala owes its popularity to the Kelani River that offers exciting Level-4 white water rafting, canoeing or hiking. It is well known place for bird watching including “yellow back Bird”.
